Flashings

A flashing is a thin material, typically galvanized steel, that is used by professional roofers to direct water away from crucial areas of the roof, wherever the roof plane meets a vertical surface like a wall or a dormer. A flashing is installed to surround key roof features, such as vents, chimneys and skylights and is an important roof material that must be on every roof.
